God Cares About Your Every Need – Matthew 6:11 & 7:7-11
Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” In Matthew 7 He tells us that if we know how to give good gifts to our children, “…how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!”
God cares about our wants and needs, even our desires (Psalm 37:4). This is one of those places where the enemy will mess up our praying by setting off our THEOLOGY ALERT. Our theology say’s God is Sovereign (completely in control), and He is. Our theology says God is omniscient (knows everything), and He does. Our logic kicks in and say’s – If God is in control and already knows everything we need, then there really isn’t any need to pray – WRONG! Our prayers make a difference (James 5:16). ASK and it will be given. SEEK and you will find. KNOCK and the door will be opened. (Matthew 7)
The devil is a liar. He will whisper to our logic, “that doesn’t make sense.” It does make sense. It makes sense to God and His ways are not our ways, His ways are above our ways. When it comes to prayer we need to quit trying to figure it out and just do it.
He is a Good and Generous Father who desires to answer our prayers, so let’s pray.
When you finish praying write down here what the Lord is teaching you:
